Professional Standards for NRPST
Ensuring high professional standards is essential if translation is to function effectively. In addition to recognising formal translation qualifications, NRPST issues a code of professional conduct for translators, ensuring high professional standards are maintained, and keeps it under regular review.
The code provides guidance by setting out skills, practices and knowledge for translators and language specialists to use in their professional lives.
All Registered Translators agree to abide by the code. NRPST will take action against those who fall short of the code’s standards. By conducting this independent disciplinary procedure, we ensure the integrity of the profession is maintained and the public can be confident in the service provided by a registered translator.
You can find details about the NRPST Code of Professional Conduct and the minimum standards of professional competence required of professional translators on the 'Why Use a Registered Translator' page.
